Weird Traits That ALL Women Chase In Men¶

A therapist (Anber Haq) lists six oddly specific traits she says women are subconsciously drawn to in men - things men rarely think about but women register instinctively. The common thread: safe authority and emotional stability.
Key points¶
- Protective over your mother/sister without being coddled by them. Being protective signals respect and a safe, non-overwhelming dominance; women close to you effectively "pre-scan" you as safe. Being coddled reads as the mother still being dominant over you, which women find less attractive.
- You live by clear morals/values and expect them of her. Confidence in your principles (whatever they are - e.g. "we don't borrow money") lets a woman trust and feel safe even when she doesn't fully understand the reasoning; it signals leadership. She cites research that people follow leaders who balance competence, confidence, and understanding of those they lead.
- You value your own autonomy. Enjoying your own company signals you like yourself, aren't easily manipulated, and are self-trusting. Avoiding being alone can read (fairly or not) as instability, so women are wired to notice it. Autonomy means self-trust, not shoving everyone away.
- Apologize once, then adjust with actions. Over-apologizing reads as low confidence and puts you in the submissive role; never apologizing reads as lacking empathy. She notes women often over-apologize as a submissive/emotion-checking instinct - a man doing the same undercuts the polarity many women want.
- Honest but respectful. Blunt, unsolicited honesty toward someone you don't know well applies pressure and often carries assumptions. Women "stay lukewarm" and warm up slowly, so you may feel more rapport than she does; attractive men calibrate directness to the actual level of trust. Within marriage the balance is different.
- Name a crossed boundary directly without going extreme. A measured boundary (e.g. explaining calmly why you don't take calls after 9pm) signals stability; an extreme reaction (cutting someone off over an innocent late text) signals your own dysregulation and makes relationships hard to sustain.
Reception¶
- Mixed, with a strong recurring joke undercutting the premise: many male commenters said they've essentially never received a genuine apology from a woman ("wait, women apologize?"), the most-liked comment thread on the video.
- Frequent pushback that the traits describe a respected, stable man generally, not romantic attraction specifically - "respect and romantic interest can overlap but are not the same thing" - and several insisted masculinity plus good looks are the real prerequisite ("Money, honey").
- The mother/sister point drew personal replies from men estranged from immature or abusive female family, asking whether forgiving/caring for an abusive mother counts as weakness.
- A vocal contingent praised Anber as a rare positive, level-headed female voice about men online and told the crowd to ignore the many appearance-focused ("stunning outfit," "red is your color") and bitter comments.
- Minor gripes on specifics: the 9pm-text example was called weak (just silence notifications), and one commenter found the framing "too sanitized and oversimplified."
- Note: Anber clarified in comments this is her dating/general-mental-health channel (more male audience) versus her attachment-focused Guided Awareness channel.
