The More You Try to Impress Her, the Less She Wants You¶

The video argues that trying to impress a woman destroys attraction, and offers an "extraction principle": a woman values not what you give her but what she had to pull out of you.
Key points¶
- The extraction principle. Attraction is built by what she had to extract, not what you hand over. The same laugh, compliment, or hour of time is worthless if given freely and valuable if earned; the price she paid sets the value, not the thing itself.
- People do not value what comes free. He uses an identical-table analogy: the self-assembled IKEA table you fought with is loved and defended, while the store-bought one is forgettable. A man who arrives "pre-assembled" gives her nothing to build.
- Performance is readable. When a man performs, his reactions are "bigger than the moment calls for" (laughing too hard, replying too fast), and she instantly senses he wants something, which kills attraction.
- Status framing. Trying to impress casts you as the applicant and her as the judge, putting her above you; he claims "want only flows downward" and a woman cannot want a man she sits above.
- The "want chemical." He says dopamine fires not on getting what you expected but on getting more than expected. An always-available, predictable man is a "vending machine" with no surprise, so her wanting goes silent. The man she cannot stop thinking about is the one she cannot predict.
- A worked contrast of two men reacting to a woman's Spain trip illustrates the difference: the eager over-reactor loses her, while the calm man who asks one question and laughs only once leaves her wanting more.
Reception¶
- Light comment volume; the top response praises the video as a simple, practical refresher -- be yourself, do not perform, and have a life of your own.
- Commenters extend the theme, advising men to be "indirectly impressive," keep a non-woman goal, and make her work for attention.
- Several ask for follow-ups on keeping a woman long-term or on what to do once mistakes were already made early in an interaction.
