Blocking can be a boundary¶

Blocking is emotional regulation, not closure -- real closure is acceptance, not removing access.
Key points¶
- Blocking signals "I need to stop being triggered," not "I have moved on"; checking a burner account afterward proves it.
- Sometimes blocking is revenge -- hoping the other person panics -- which is pain with a firewall, not resolution.
- Blocking can be a healthy boundary when you are dysregulated or tempted to break no contact, but do not confuse removing access with moving on.
- Avoidants who block typically unblock within one to three months; use that window to regulate intentionally.
