4th option, don't respond to a breadcrumb

Three boundary texts to send when an avoidant comes back with a breadcrumb, each calibrated to how much you have healed.

Key points

  • Calm and self-assured: "I appreciate you reaching out, but unless you want a real conversation about what happened and where we stand, I need to keep some space." Boundary = access requires intention.
  • Polite but firm: "Casual check-ins don't feel good for me; if there's something meaningful you want to discuss I'm open, otherwise I'm moving forward." Flips power without hostility.
  • Detached and minimal: "Good to hear from you. Not interested in small talk, but I wish you well." -- a closed door, stated calmly.
  • Any of these still leaves room for them to respond with a genuine bid; communicating your boundary is healthy and does not permanently shut the door.
