Politakis GHOSTING IS NOT OK! No matter what

Three boundary text options for when an avoidant ghosts you, covering the range from a calm call-out to a firm but graceful exit.

Key points

  • If they return without acknowledging the ghosting: "I noticed you went quiet -- if we're going to keep talking, I need honesty about what happened instead of acting like it didn't."
  • If silence continues (self-respecting): "I don't chase silence. If you're pulling away I respect that, but I won't stay in a dynamic where I'm left wondering where I stand."
  • If silence continues (gentle and firm): "If you're not in a place to communicate consistently, I understand -- but I won't keep investing in something that leaves me feeling ignored."
  • Sending any of these either prompts a response or allows full release; ghosting cannot sustain a healthy relationship and needs to be called out.
