7 Signs Someone Is Into You But Trying Not To Show It¶

Seven behavioral tells the channel claims reveal a hidden crush, drawn from dating psychologists and body-language experts.
Key points¶
- They do things you like to be near you: per dating psychologist Madeline Mason Roantree, the brain's reward system motivates spending more time around someone we like; a person may take up your hobbies or join your activities to get closer and create things to talk about.
- Their pupils dilate: per body-language expert Patty Wood (author of "Success Signals"), dilation is a brain response to liking and attraction (allowing for dim lighting as an alternative cause).
- They know things about you that you never told them, e.g. having scrolled back through old social posts, or frequently asking friends about you.
- You catch them staring; people turn their gaze toward who they find attractive, and looking away may be an attempt to hide it.
- They try to find out your relationship status, watching for their reaction (disappointment if you are taken, a hidden grin if you are single).
- They seem nervous around you: stammering, sweating, clammy hands. The channel says research found sexual arousal shuts off parts of the prefrontal cortex (responsible for critical thinking, rational behavior, self-awareness), which can make people seem less articulate.
Note: the video lists six tells under "seven signs" (it skips number five). Studies are named only loosely; the prefrontal-cortex claim is stated without a specific citation.
